ROLAND
XC-540
High
Speed, High Quality Outdoor Printer/Cutter
The XC-540s
Advanced Media Handling System,
Precision Firing
Pattern technology, and improved print modes make it possible
for the XC-540 to produce quality graphics at even the highest
print speeds without a loss of image density. Building upon proven
Roland engineering and technology, the XC-540 masters the most
complex Print/Cut applications while also handling up to 54’ wide
media at a maximum print speed of 441 sfph for high volume banner
production. This dual functionality makes the XC-540 the most
versatile wide format digital printer capable of meeting the demands
of a professional, high-volume workflow.
Incredible
ease of use
Many devices
on the market require time spent on maintaining or configuring
the device before actual printing is possible. Not the XC-540.
Likewise, for the high-volume production shop, TCP/IP connectivity
is really the only option. That is why the XC-540 was designed
with in integrated 10/100 network interface card (NIC). Not only
can the Roland developed card be configured to operate with your
network environment directly from the printer menu, but it also
gives the operator the advantage of not needing a dedicated computer
placed next to the printer. Like all Roland inkjet devices, the
XC-540 is designed with automated cleaning and periodic maintenance
functions. These features enable the XC-540 to effectively maintain
and clean itself, therefore requiring minimal bimonthly operator
maintenance. The XC-540 was designed for faster access to key
components and the on-board menu is arranged for easy navigation.

New Precision
Firing Pattern
When printing
at higher speeds, many printers can produce only low density color
with severely reduced image quality. Roland’s unique Precision
Firing Pattern was designed to achieve the highest printing speeds
possible while maintaining vibrant high density colors. The XC-540
takes advantage of this advanced firing pattern that has been
optimized for the advanced piezo print heads. The XC-540’s 6-color
CMYKLcLm configuration, produces higher color quality with an
extended gamut and tonal density in any print mode enabling the
6-color XC-540 to produce stunning images with unparalleled image
color, density, and quality. In addition, Roland’s in-line head
configuration does away with the need for lengthy calibration
procedures and costly down time. Since the XC-540 was designed
with the production printer in mind, the unit comes standard with
a protective removable tray for the new Eco-SOL MAX 440ml cartridges
allowing for higher volume printing without the need for frequent
ink cartridge replacement.
Advanced
media handling
Improvements
to the media handling system include an increased maximum media
weight of 66 lbs, allowing for longer roll lengths. The XC-540
also boasts 7 permanent and repositionable pinch rollers giving
the XC-540 the ability to run long printing jobs at higher speeds
while maintaining image quality.
Automated
media take-up system
The XC-540
comes standard with an advanced take-up and tension system as
part of the media feed system. This system allows for high speed
graphic production with ease and, since this system is integrated
into the XC-540 stand. The XC-540’s extended media guides, vacuum
platen and adjustable head height make it possible to print on
thin or lighter weight media that might otherwise have a tendency
to buckle while printing.
Integrated
Tri-Heater System
The integrated
Tri-Heater system on the XC-540 makes high speed printing and
take-up possible. The heating system consists of three elements.
A Pre-heater opens pores in the vinyl or banner material to improve
media receptiveness. The Print Heater helps to accelerate ink
fastness and brightness by ensuring that ink is absorbed into
the substrate. Finally, the Dryer accelerates ink drying to improve
productivity, workability and scratch resistance.
